Procedure text

This material was created for 11 grader students of senior high school.
It is writing subject and I would like to tell you about procedure text.

Definition : Procedure text  is a text that is designed to describe how something is achieved through a sequence of actions or steps. It explains how people perform different processes in a sequence of steps.

The generic structures :
                    Goal/aim ( or title)
Materials (not required for all procedural texts)
Steps (the actions that must be taken)

And here is I want to give you the example of procedure text :

"How to make Fried banana"
Ingredients :
  1. Bananas
  2. Cooking oil
  3. Confectioners sugar
Tools :
  1. Knife
  2. Frying pan
  3. Slotted spoon
  4. Paper towels
Steps :
  • First peel large ripe bananas (skins should be dark yellow, some dark areas are acceptable).

  • Second cut into 1/4-inch-thick diagonal slices; set aside.

  • Third pour cooking oil to a depth of one inch into a 10–12 inch (25.4–30.5 cm) frying pan and heat.

  • Then carefully place the plantain slices, several at a time, into the hot oil and cook, turning as needed, until golden brown, two to three minutes.

  • After that remove from oil with a slotted spoon, and drain on paper towels.

  • Finally, Add confectioners sugar. And serve it !

And that's all the steps to make fried banana. That is one of the example of procedure text. Thank's for reading :)
